Rationale
Dive
into Wellington
In my brochure for the promotion of the
wider Wellinton region, I have used collage to explore a variety of water based
activities for both residents and tourists who have prior interest, knowledge and experience in paddleboarding,
wharf jumping and snorkelling.
The following FDP’s have been used in my
collage – rhythm, balance, depth and colour contrast. The repetition, change in
size and position of the circles and lines in each collage, represents the
movement of the water as dictated by each activity. The action of the people
represented in each collage draws an emotive response from the reader.
The images have been clustered and layered
on top of each other to create depth and a feeling of anticipation and excitement.
The asymmetrical position and intersection of the clustered images, draws the readers
eye to the focal point of the collage. Colour contrast has been used to
highlight the different activities and
the repetition of colour connects them throughout the brochure.
The 3-column grid and Univers typeface is
simple and clean which is in direct contrast to the busy collages, which helps
to balance out the spreads.
The use of line and bold text helps to draw
the eye back to the information page.
Keeping up to date with bookwork helped
with the generation of new ideas and the constant improvement and changes to my
brochure. Computer file organization requires improvement to assist in the
printing stage of the final product.
